AIP Paves Way for a Better Learning Experience at AAU

October 30-31, 2013 | Jorhat, Assam

AIP conducted a training workshop at Assam Agricultural University (AAU) in coordination with Dr. Prasanta Kalita, Professor, Soil & amp; Water Resources Engineering, University of Illinois (UoI) at Urbana Champaign, to facilitate the process of setting up a center for teaching excellence at AAU.

The two-day training program conducted on 30 and 31 October, 2013 witnessed the participation of around 25 faculty members. Majority of the participants were women who took an active part during the discussions and the training sessions. Highlights of the training were lectures by Dr Prasanta Kalita on ‘innovative teaching techniques’ and ‘teaching/learning styles’, which involved a lot of activity-based learning. The discussions were followed by brain storming sessions that underlined diverse views and perspectives of faculty members on teaching excellence techniques. Lectures by Dr Kalita were followed by interactions with the faculty. The sessions provided a new perspective on adopting teaching excellence in the university.

The training will definitely go a long way in laying the founding stones to set up the center for teaching excellence at AAU.
