When considering a planting method, one must account for space plus resources to grow healthy plants.
For soil planting, you must cultivate the soil, ensure appropriate levels of nutrients from fertilizer or compost, then plan maintenance for weeds or watering needs. Harvest times also depend on planting season and weather environment.
In hydroponic growing, there is a minimum cost to consider, as a system must be acquired before planting can begin. However, once installed, the maintenance on the system requires far less commitment, as there are no weeds nor need for soil enrichment, as there is no soil. All enrichment comes from a liquid base nutrient source, added to the mist/water system. Hydroponics are also season agnostic, as you can use grow lights if sun is limited. This allows for indoor growing.
If you love the outdoors and have something of a green thumb, traditional growing might be best. However, if you are new to gardening and have a little to invest without any space to plant, hydroponics might be your best option. You can install a grow system inside your Livingroom!
